H.O.T. was established to support my son, and the many sons and daughters like him, who are defending our freedom."

Jim Leascher began his professional career as a pastor in Oklahoma. The Lord eventually led Jim and his family to the Midland/Odessa area where he worked as a minister until founding Honor Our Troops.

Why We Are Here

What drives H.O.T. is the understanding that there are U.S. soldiers all around the world that aren’t receiving any cards, letters, or care packages from home. We feel that it is our responsibility to bring attention to this and do what we can to make sure this need is met.

Further motivation are the letters sent to us from soldiers who received H.O.T. care packages. Some of their stories can be seen here .

Care Packages

A care package is a small gift sent to a loved one who is away from home. For the men and women of the U.S. military that are stationed far from the States, this could be just the piece of home they need to get them through their darkest hours.

A H.O.T. care package consists of things like popular snacks, groceries, candy, reading material, socks, and hygiene products, and is topped with an encouraging letter and a photo from the sender.

We’re at around 49,000 care packages to date and are sending around 100 boxes per week.

Local and National Efforts

H.O.T. is partnering with over 52 local schools, and 15 local churches to raise funds and assemble care packages to send to our troops in 12 military bases across 12 countries. We send 100 to 200 care packages out per week.

H.O.T.’s exponential growth over the years has allowed us to reach beyond our efforts in the Odessa/Midland area in the form of our national $2.00 Drive To Honor Our Troops.
